About Mila B
Mila B., CHES, RN, BSN, MPH
Mila B began her journey towards a holistic and healthier lifestyle in 1998 when she declared Nursing as her major at The University of Memphis. In 2000 when she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing she knew that the typical bedside nursing position would never be challenging enough for her because she was not satisfied with just a scientific approach to health.
So she continued her education journey receiving a Master of Arts in Medical Anthropology in 2004. Medical Anthropology enhanced her knowledge about African American cultural and historical health practices and awakened an interest in Women’s Health advocacy.
Intrigued with a desire to make a positive change in the health of the African American community she went on to pursue a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Emory University in Atlanta Georgia.
In 2006 she completed her MPH program with a focus on Health Education and Behavioral Health Science and in 2011 she became a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc.
During her career and educational journey to prepare to provide others with education about their health, JB also started a more personal journey for her own health and living.
After years of experimenting and researching, she became able to connect her diet, exercise regimen, beauty ideas, environment, and even love relationships with one another to create a holistic lifestyle that she has entitled Afro-Living.
Mila B is now ready to be a resource for other individuals, especially African American women who want to live a healthier lifestyle that includes exercise, diet, love relationships, beauty, and health.
So if you are sick and tired of being sick and tired about–love, health, exercise, or even beauty then follow Mila B as she takes you down the road to a healthier, holistic way of living!
